1978:
The company was founded in Wietmarschen, Germany, by the chemist Günter Briesemann and the business man Gerd Rickhoff. Originally, the company was intended to be a service company for the drilling industry, its brand name EWABO being the abbreviation of the German terms for oil-water-drilling ("Erdöl-WAsser-BOhren"). The increasing demand for disinfectants by the livestock industry caused a fundamental re-orientation of EWABO and the company grew to become a specialist in hygiene and cleansing products predominantly in the veterinary sector.
Early 80´s:
EWABO started to expand its marketing activities outside of Germany.
The Mid 80´s:
Following a successful research and development phase, EWABO launched Aldekol DES 03 which has been, and still is today among the best sellers within EWABO´s product range.
The 90´s:
The EWABO portfolio is increased to encompass the varied types of application in the animal-keeping business. Plurasept, another disinfectant for hospital applications, is introduced onto the market.
The Millennium:
The product portfolio comprises more than 70 different products. Due to the continuous expansion and the resulting necessity to increase capacities, the company has a new, spacious warehouse built at its headquarters in Wietmarschen.
Since 2002:
EWABO´s production is in compliance with the rules of the EU-GMP Quality Management Systems.
2004:
The founders Günter Briesemann and Gerd Rickhoff transferred the company to an investment group. Grad. Eng. Guido Beckmann is appointed sole managing director.
The company today:
EWABO is now able to supply more than 100 quality products to 70 countries all over the world. For future purposes, EWABO intends to set innovative standards on the company´s way towards market leadership. This also includes the implementation of all regulatory requirements according to the Biocide Products Directive and REACH.
